Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before using SteelBid. By registering an account or using our platform, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by these terms.
SteelBid is an online tender platform operated by SteelBid ("we", "us", "our") that connects structural steel fabricators ("Fabricators") with structural steel detailers ("Detailers") across the United Kingdom.
SteelBid acts solely as an intermediary marketplace. We facilitate introductions between Fabricators and Detailers. We are not a party to any contract or agreement entered into between a Fabricator and a Detailer, and we do not provide structural steel detailing services ourselves.

When a Fabricator awards a tender to a Detailer, SteelBid will share the Fabricator's contact details with the awarded Detailer. From this point, all project discussions, contractual arrangements, scheduling, payment terms and delivery obligations are agreed directly between the Fabricator and the Detailer. SteelBid has no involvement in, and accepts no responsibility for, any aspect of the project that takes place after the tender award.
SteelBid does not guarantee that any Detailer will receive bids, that any Fabricator will find a suitable Detailer, or that any tender will result in a contract being awarded. The platform is a connection tool only.
To use SteelBid you must register for an account. You agree to provide accurate, current and complete information during registration and to keep your account information up to date.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us immediately at accounts@steelbid.co.uk if you believe your account has been compromised.
Each individual or company may hold only one account on the platform. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent a suspension or subscription lapse is strictly prohibited.
You may delete your account at any time via the Security section of your dashboard. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any account that breaches these Terms.
Fabricators may post tender opportunities on the platform free of charge. By posting a tender you confirm that:
Fabricators are solely responsible for evaluating submitted bids and selecting a suitable Detailer. SteelBid does not verify the accuracy of tender information posted by Fabricators and accepts no liability for errors or omissions in tender specifications.
When a Fabricator awards a tender, they accept responsibility for contacting the awarded Detailer directly to agree project terms, start dates, deliverables and payment arrangements. These arrangements are entirely between the Fabricator and Detailer.
Detailers are required to hold an active paid subscription to access tender details and submit bids. Subscription fees are as stated on the platform at the time of registration and are subject to change with reasonable notice.
Detailer accounts are subject to verification before full platform access is granted. Verification is at the sole discretion of SteelBid and is conditional on receipt of the subscription fee.
By submitting a bid, Detailers confirm that:
An awarded Detailer is responsible for contacting the Fabricator directly to agree and formalise the project engagement. SteelBid is not responsible for facilitating or mediating this process.
Detailers pay an annual subscription fee as displayed on the platform. The fee is invoiced upon registration and annually thereafter, 30 days prior to the renewal date.
Payment is by BACS bank transfer using the invoice number as the payment reference. Account details are provided on the invoice.
If payment is not received by the due date, access to the platform will be suspended until payment is confirmed. SteelBid reserves the right to void outstanding invoices and remove the account if payment is not received within a reasonable period.
Subscription fees are non-refundable once an account has been verified and access granted. If you cancel your subscription, access will continue until the end of the paid period and will not be renewed.
SteelBid may offer promotional discount codes from time to time. Discounts are applied at the point of invoicing and are not transferable.

SteelBid is a connection platform only. We are not responsible for the quality, accuracy, safety, legality or any other aspect of the detailing work performed, the tender specifications posted, or any project undertaken as a result of an introduction made through the platform.
Any dispute, disagreement, loss or damage arising from a project arranged through SteelBid is solely between the Fabricator and Detailer concerned. SteelBid accepts no liability for project delays, defective work, non-payment, breach of contract or any other project-related matter.
We aim to maintain continuous platform availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We accept no liability for losses arising from platform downtime, technical failures or data loss.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, SteelBid's total liability to any user shall not exceed the subscription fees paid by that user in the 12 months preceding the claim.
All content on the SteelBid platform including the design, logo, text and software is owned by or licensed to SteelBid and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute or create derivative works from any platform content without our prior written consent.
By uploading drawings, documents or other content to the platform, you grant SteelBid a limited licence to store and display that content solely for the purpose of operating the platform. You retain ownership of all content you upload.
Your use of SteelBid is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use and protect your personal data in accordance with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes by email. Continued use of the platform following notification of changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the platform shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
